The majoe objectives of the Mid Day Meal Authority are : 

1. To make available nutritious food for the children enrolled in the primary schools of the state government, board and government aided primary schools and the for the children enrolled in E.G.S. and A.I.I centers.
   
   
2. To develop the grasping prowess of children through making nutritios food available to them
   
   
3. To enhance the enrollment of children in schools. 
   
   
4. To develop the tendency to stay in schools in the children and to reduce the drop-out rate in schools. 
   
   
5. To develop the feelings of brotherhood and to develop positive outlook through combined fooding for the children belonging to different religions and castes.
